An employee disappointed in the lack of union representation can use this letter template to resign as well as urge the company or organization to reconsider its stance about organized labor.
Dear Mr./Ms. Bossname,
I must tender my resignation, effective immediately.
As you know, I have been one of the main staffers working toward union representation. I expect that you are quite pleased the vote ultimately failed this week. And yet, the issues we raised continue to plague XYZ Company. I’m deeply saddened, not just for the workers but for the clients who are also impacted.
Given that there will be no union representation in the foreseeable future, and the backlash I’m already receiving from management for my activities, I see no choice but to resign.
Fortunately, I have already secured a position at ABC Company, which is a union shop.
Sincerely,
Your Name
