After choosing from among college acceptance offers, it is considered polite to let other universities to which you were admitted know that you will not be taking a spot. This letter extends that courtesy.
It is with great regret that I must retract my acceptance to Anystate University. When I committed to enroll this coming fall, it was with the full intention of doing so. It still doesn’t seem real that I must take this step.
Significant personal and financial challenges have emerged in the past few weeks, and I see no other path forward.
If there is any possible way that I could defer enrollment or take a gap year, I would greatly appreciate discussing those options. Additionally, I’d like to seek an exception regarding the non-refundable housing deposit.
I am hopeful that my situation will stabilize within the next year and appreciate your understanding.
